CA: Kids with Cameras

This is too cool not to mention: Kids with Cameras is a project started by the filmmakers behind the documentary Born Into Brothels. They gave cameras to a bunch of kids in Calcutta and turned them loose. The resulting pictures are often very dynamic and always incredibly honest.

I love looking at photography by kids - they’re so energetic and genuine. They haven’t yet learned The Rules, so never have the intellectual struggles that we adults do in art - trying to balance technical issues, compositional issues, oh and being emotionally connected to the moment. They’re already there - they’re masters. (or maybe masters are just those adults who have become children).

What do you think?
